Dental Implants

Stable structure that mimics the look and feel of a natural tooth

Implant Dentistry Services

A dental implant is a titanium structure surgically inserted into the root of a missing tooth. The jaw accepts the new titanium "root," which then fuses with the surrounding bone, allowing the implant to serve as a stable structure that mimics the look and feel of a natural tooth.

Uses of dental implants

  • To replace one or more missing teeth without any modification to the bordering teeth
  • To support a bridge and eliminate the need for a removable partial denture
  • To provide firm support for a full denture, making it more stable and comfortable

Advantages of dental implants

  • Dental implants prevent shifting of the teeth and jaw and are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth in both look and feel.
  • Dental implants integrate into the structure of your bone and eliminate the need to alter adjacent teeth.
  • With proper care, implants are designed to last a lifetime.
Frequently Asked Questions

Dental Implants

Why would I need an implant?
You may need an implant if you are missing an entire tooth or need to extract an entire tooth from the mouth
How long will the procedure take?
Dental implants happen over a period of a few appointments. On your initial visit, we will evaluate your dental history to determine if you are eligible for dental implants. A secondary visit for the implant surgery will then take place. The next step is to leave the implants undisturbed for a period of time while they heal and fuse with the jaw bone.
What happens after the implant has fused?
Small connector posts called abutments are attached to the implant and a new artificial tooth that matches the shade and shape of your natural tooth is attached to the abutment
Will people be able to tell I had a dental implant?
Once the abutment and corresponding artificial tooth is attached, your smile will look completely natural. Dental implants are esthetically pleasing and look just like a normal tooth.
