Protect the Structure
Of Your Teeth
A crown is a custom-made "cap" that fits over your entire tooth and is recommended to protect teeth that are not structually sound.
Cracked Teeth
Crowns can be applied to a cracked tooth to enhance the structure of the tooth and protect it from bacteria and decay entering.
Post Root Canal
Some patients will need root canal treatment when the tooth has become too damaged. Root canals effect a major portion of the tooth, which will need to be protected by a crown after the root canal has been performed.
Can't Accommodate Fillings
Some patients have too much tooth missing to accommodate a regular filling. In this case, a crown is applied to protect the tooth once the cavity is removed.
Bridge for Missing Teeth
Two crowns with an artificial tooth suspended between them creates a bridge, an option to replace missing teeth.
Large Fillings
If a tooth has been filled multiple times over the years, there is often very little tooth left for us to work with, in this case a crown would be needed instead of further fillings,

Quality Crowns
Initially, you will be fitted with a temporary crown to cover the tooth until the permanent one is ready. Permanent crowns are fabricated from an impression of the tooth. A high level of attention is given to fitting the permanent crown for proper bite, shape, & fit.
Types of Crowns
If it's determined that a crown is the best treatment method, you will have two different options of the type of crown to choose.
All Porcelain Crowns
This crown has the most natural appearance as it is made entirely out of porcelain. These are often the best choice for anterior crowns as they are esthetically pleasing but slightly less durable than porcelain fused to metal.
Porcelain fused to metal crowns
These are porcelain crowns with a metal lining. These are often used for molars due to their durability and strength.
